Fog Bottle Shop is Fog Eater Café’s wine bar and bottle shop, a few doors down Main Street in the village of Mendocino. It pours natural and organic wines by the glass and the flight, sells the bottles to take home, and puts out small plates and tinned fish from the Fog Eater kitchen until early evening – or nine o’clock on Friday and Saturday.
Fog Eater’s natural-wine annex on Main Street: flights, bottles to go, and the Friday bread pickup
Haley Samas-Berry opened the shop in 2022 as a sister to Fog Eater Café, with the same eye for small producers. The list leans to natural and organic wines from Mendocino County, the rest of California, and Europe, with local tastings on a regular schedule and a shelf of pantry goods, cider, and beer. The room is small and bright, with a bar, a few tables, and a window on Main Street, and it works as well for a glass before dinner at Fog Eater as for an hour with a bottle and a tin of fish on a foggy afternoon.
Fridays are the day to come: Hard Head Bread’s Mendocino pickup table is here in the afternoon, so you can collect a loaf with your wine. The shop also hosts private events and closes on Tuesdays.
