This attribute is reflected in Fort Bragg’s C.V. Starr Community Center, where a plethora of services and activities are geared to both year-round members and one-time guests. It is not even a slight exaggeration to say that the C.V. Starr Community Center has something for everyone!
The biggest attraction at the C.V. Starr Community Center is undeniably their Aquatic Center. This beautifully designed indoor swim facility offers a lap pool, leisure pool, lazy river, splash area with interactive water fountains and spray features, a gigantic tube slide for daredevils, and a gradient pool area for little ones. Affordable swim lessons are open to the public and members on an ongoing basis.
In addition to swimming, Community Center patrons can enjoy various other athletic and educational activities. The recently remodeled fitness center is equipped with cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, and more for a self-paced workout. A staff of professional personal fitness trainers is also on-hand for guided sessions.
Drop-in group fitness classes are scheduled regularly – take your pick of Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Silver Sneakers, and spin classes. Additionally, try the guided body-sculpting and weight bar workouts in the fitness center, or hop in the pool for Kayak trainings, water aerobics and water fitness classes. CPR & First Aid training and more can be found regularly on the center’s calendar. Although registration for most courses is required in advance, these activities are open to the public.
Special events at reasonable rates are always on the calendar at the CV Starr Fitness Center. Children ages 6-10 are invited to join Sharks and Mermaid Extravaganzas, where treasure hunts and other surprises are planned, and shark fins and mermaid tails are provided! Lifejackets are a must for all children who participate, unless they can pass the center’s swimming test. Additionally, the Community Center plans special events like Father-Daughter Dances, or the facility can be rented for your own special-events.
Whether it’s a rainy day, you’re motivated to learn something new, or seeking a night out without the kids, C.V. Starr Community Center is sure to have something to meet your needs. Come for a class, a day, sign up for a month-long membership, or commit to a year-long membership.
